Ok, I'm not going to spout any nonsense about Kobe being better then Jordan, that was mostly just to annoy Sansone, but 81 is unbelievably impressive. What I've been most amused with is the reaction to the feat. What do you guys think? Feat of a lifetime to be appreciated? Or selfish ball-hogging? Or both?

They won. Who could it be ball hogging? His team scored 41 points. Perhaps a bit low, but not unheard of.
I think it just showed that his is still the best player in the league. If Jordan had played the exact same game, we'd be talking about how it was proof that he was the greatest player of all time.
To all those who want to bash Kobe: Hate the player/alleged rapist, don't hate the game (of basketball, extra marital sexual relations are no game, consensual or not).

But did you see any of that game? i mean to score that many points, you do actually have to hog the ball a bit....I think Steve Nash dishing out 20+ assists is a much better gane to watch that Kobe picking on the pathetic Raptors. I mean, Elton is no Kobe, but he should get more chances than 2points (of course he WAS 1 for 7....)
Anyhoo, no one will care what the game meant or anything, they'll just remember 81 and, for what it's worth, it is amazing. But it wasn't so much a basketball game as a one on one showdown (r showoff).
